How We Do Process Improvement
Charanjit Singh (CJ) Bawa, Lean Coach and founder of QCDMS Consultants explains their simple business model and how it helps to do process improvement efficiently.
“We have a business model, very simple business model, or I would call it “Process Improvement Model”. Where we come in, we first review the culture of the organization, then we look at their purpose, their vision, their mission, their core values, their objectives,” says Charanjit Singh Bawa.
The main questions are: “Are they listening to their customer?”, “Are they listening to their business?”, “Are they listening to their process?”, “Are they listening to their employees?”. All that they are listening need to be converted nicely into a dashboard.
In QCDMS Consultants we help to create that dashboard which tells what or where the organization needs to focus.
“Once we know where the focal points are, we will create our daily management structure against the purpose and the objectives of the organization. And engage their people, train their people, coach their people to do daily management, which means to meet every day and to talk about your key objectives, your key purpose, your key KPI’s,” he continues.
He explains that once the organization starts to do that, automatically problems start to pop up, process improvements start to pop up or bad processes start to come into the light.
“Now it’s the time where we say ‘let’s go and train you guys on Yellow, White, Green, Black Belt and do hand-holding on actual projects, so we can walk with them while they’re riding their bicycle for the first time till the time they can ride the bicycle on their own,” says Charanjit Singh Bawa.
We do the same thing when we are teaching our young kids, how to walk and how to drive the bicycle.
